Program Overview

According to West Virginia University:

“The RN to MSN program is designed for the registered nurse who is a graduate of an associate degree nursing program and is interested in a program leading to the Master of Science in Nursing degree. The RN to MSN can be completed in as little as eight semesters of full-time study, with students earning a BSN and then progressing to the MSN portion of the program.”

Admission requirements According to West Virginia University, to be eligible for admission to the RN-MSN program, applicants must fulfill the following requirements:

  • Diploma or associate degree in nursing from a nationally accredited program
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of a 2.5 on all college-level work ever attempted
  • Minimum GPA of a 2.0 on all college work attempted after removing all ADN/ASN nursing courses from cumulative GPA
  • Unrestricted license to practice nursing
  • All Registered Nurses will transfer 50 hours of undifferentiated nursing credit based on RN licensure.
