The online DNP degree’s coursework covers a range of topics, including healthcare policy and advocacy, quality improvement, evidence-based practice, information systems and technology, advanced nursing practice, and organizational and systems leadership. This online Doctor of Nursing Practice degree program incorporates fieldwork to allow you to apply your learning in a real-world environment. This program is designed for RNs who have a master’s degree in nursing and an area of advanced nursing practice.”

Admission requirements According to Walden University, to be eligible for admission to the DNP program, applicants must fulfill the following requirements:

  • Coursework from another institution must fit within these time frames:
    • No more than 5 years since applicant was last enrolled in a doctoral program
    • Only coursework completed in the last 10 years is eligible for transfer of credit
  • Applicant must have completed all doctoral coursework at the prior institution, with a minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Applicant must not have been academically dismissed from prior institution
  • Applicant must complete a phone or video interview with Walden
  • GRE or GMAT scores (no minimum score or time limit)
